Clinical and imaging characteristics of fever-induced refractory epileptic encephalopathy (FIRES), idiopathic hemiconvulsion-hemiplegia syndrome (IHHS), and related acute encephalopathies are reviewed by researchers at Descartes University, Paris, France; Institute for Pharmacological Research, Milan, Italy: and Institute of Biomedical Imaging, Orsay, France.
